JOB SUMMARY:

Our company is looking to hire a qualified Fiber Optic Technician to support the installation and joining of a fiber optic network across approximately 45 km. The technician will be responsible for ensuring high-quality installation, splicing, and testing of fiber cables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation Laying new Fiber optic cables underground within commercial/residential premises etc.
• Splicing & Termination Joining Fiber cables using fusion splicing and preparing cables for connection to network equipment.
• Testing & Troubleshooting Utilizing specialized equipment like OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) and power meters to test signal strength and identify faults.
• Maintenance Inspecting, repairing, and upgrading existing Fiber infrastructure to meet performance standards.
• Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of Fiber optic theory, signal transmission, and safety procedures.
• Tool Handling Experience with fusion splicers, Fiber strippers, and testing equipment.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
• Configure and support network and telecommunication equipment
• Ensure smooth connection and integration of fibre network
• Troubleshoot network and fibre connectivity issues
• Coordinate with technical teams during project execution
• Maintain proper records and technical documentation
• Follow safety and company standards
•  Installation and configuration of fibre optic and network equipment
• Monitor system performance and ensure stable connectivity
•  Conduct site surveys and field inspections
• Maintain proper technical documentation

Requirements:

• Experience in fibre optic installation and network systems
• Ability to work in field conditions and travel between sites
• Basic knowledge of networking equipment (routers, switches)
• Teamwork and problem-solving skill

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in Fiber Optic, Telecommunication, Networking, IT, or related field
• Minimum [5–7] years of experience in Fiber Optic and site work
• Experience in site supervision and project implementation
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Computer Skils 
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Fluency in languages: English, Dari and Pashto
