Relief Humanitarian and Development Organization (RHDO) is a nongovernmental, non- religious, non-political, non-profit and non-military organization, working for development of Afghanistan through implementation of health, community development and capacity development/research projects  was established in February 2014 and is registered with the Ministry of Economics under registration No 3121.  is also registered in Ministry of Public health under registration # 504.  is registered in Ministry of Women affairs under registration # 751 aims to contribute to the development of Afghanistan through provision of developmental and humanitarian services in public health, training and capacity building of Afghans in healthcare disciplines and skills starts to realize its vision through implementable, context-specific, technically sound and practically achievable approaches. These approaches are: (1) to design and implement the community development programs; (2) to provide primary and secondary health services according to the standards of the MOPH; and (3) to build capacities and skills of ordinary Afghanistan residences and professional of health sector.

Position Overview

The Infectious Disease Specialist will lead and oversee clinical services related to infectious diseases to ensure high-quality patient care and effective implementation of health programs in Balkh 50 Beds Infectious Disease Hospital. The position is responsible for accurate diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, supervision and capacity building of medical staff, adherence to national treatment protocols, and coordination with hospital management and relevant departments to support efficient and effective healthcare service delivery.

Job Description:

• To contribute and ensure proper diagnosis and treatment of all complex and complicated cases at Balkh 50 beds infectious disease hospital.
• To help junior staff for provision of quality infectious care according to the national protocols and guidelines.
• Conduct regular technical seminars and discussion forum for junior staff of Balkh 50 beds infectious disease hospital.
• To provide daily case presentation during the round and morning report to the junior staff.
• To contribute in capacity building of junior staff through conducting on the job training and seminars.
• To provide recommendations and to the hospital medical director on technical and management issues.
• To attend all infectious disease related consultations and on call duties as per schedule
• To carry out researches and provide support on it to the junior staff.
• To ensure proper implementation of HMIS system.
• To do evening visit of admitted patients.
• To work as head of the department in case of need.
• To give proper directions to nurses regarding infection prevention and patients care.
• Attend all meetings and training provided by RHDO.
• Perform any other related task given by RHDO.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree of MD and specialization in Infectious disease approved by MoPH.
• Working experience as specialist of 3 years in hospital.
• Good English language skills. Computer skills are preferable.
• Flexible mentality
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
