Job Description:

Job Summary

The organization implements multiple projects across different provinces of Afghanistan. Managing data effectively across these projects is necessary to ensure accountability, transparency, and strong program performance. According to this needs, the Data Management and Reporting Officer plays a key role in bringing together information from all project locations, ensuring that data is accurate, managed well, and translated into meaningful reports. The position also supports compliance with donor requirements and national regulations, including coordination with the Ministry of Finance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Information management
  • Lead and maintain data management systems across all projects.
  • Develop and improve tools, databases, and dashboards for tracking progress.
  • Ensure proper data storage, documentation, and protection in line with organizational and donor standards.
  1. Data Collection and Quality Assurance
  • Coordinate with provincial teams and partners for timely data collection.
  • Review, validate, and clean incoming data.
  • Identify inconsistencies and follow up for corrections.
  • Conduct routine data quality checks and support improvements.
  1. Data Analysis
  • Consolidate and analyze data from multiple projects.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and achievements.
  • Develop summaries, dashboards, and analytical reports for decision-making.
  1. Donor Reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual donor reports.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and deadlines.
  • Maintain reporting calendar and respond to donor feedback.
  1. Partner Coordination and Capacity Building
  • Coordinate with implementing partners for consistent reporting.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and training on data management practices.
  1. Compliance and Accountability
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of data.
  • Follow donor and organizational data protection policies.
  • Integrate feedback and complaints data into reporting.
  1. Bi-annual reporting to Ministry of Economy
  • Support provincial project team to build their capacity for preparation of bi-annual technical and financial report submitted to the DoPH and DoEc at the province.
  • Follow up of these reports with the provincial project teams.
  • Uploading the approved reports along with all attachments in online reporting portal of the Ministry of Economy.
  • Preparation and submission of required documents.
  • Follow up on clearance processes and respond to queries.
  • Maintain organized records of submissions and approvals.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Information Management, Statistics, Public Health, or related field
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in data management, reporting, or MEAL.
  • High level Knowledge of and evidence-based Experience of using SPSS, Power BI, DHIS2, Kobo Toolbox or ODK
  1. Prefer qualification
  • Strong skills in MS Excel and data analysis tools is preferable
  • Experience with multi-province projects and donor-funded programs in Afghanistan preferred.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Dari and Pashto required.
