Job Description:

The Gabion Weaving Trainer will be responsible for conducting practical gabion weaving training for project beneficiaries. The trainer must have strong practical experience in manual gabion weaving and be capable of teaching these technical skills effectively to trainees through hands-on instruction and continuous field supervision.


The trainer will supervise daily gabion weaving activities in the field, ensure quality standards during practical training sessions, and support beneficiaries in learning standardized, durable gabion weaving techniques.


The position requires regular field presence, close coordination with community representatives, and strong communication with beneficiaries and local stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of training activities.

Job Requirements:

Responsibilities:
A successful applicant will be expected to:
* Conduct initial practical and theoretical training sessions on gabion weaving techniques.
* Demonstrate and teach proper handling and safe use of wires, tools, and related training materials.
* Demonstrate and teach step-by-step gabion weaving methods to trainees; including wire twisting, knotting, mesh arrangement, and proper shaping techniques. Assess and correct trainees’ gabion weaving technique to ensure successful training.
* Conduct regular field visits to monitor quality of trainees’ gabion weaving.
* Provide continuous technical guidance to trainees to 
* ensure a consistent high quality standard of gabion baskets being produced.
* Assess quality of gabion baskets to be collected for storage and provide training to trainees in fixing any mistakes prior to gabion collection.
* Maintain active coordination and positive communication with local elders, Imams, beneficiaries, and community representatives. 
* Encourage regular participation and attendance of trainees during practical sessions.
* Maintain attendance sheets, daily activity records, and submit regular progress reports to the project manager. 
* Participate in meetings and project-related activities assigned by their line manager. 
* Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the project manager. 
* Comply with all with organizational procedures, safety measures, and field guidelines.
