Job Description:
The Ultrasound Technician/Sonographer will perform and oversee ultrasound imaging services to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic support for patients at Balkh 50 Beds Infectious Disease Hospital. The position is responsible for conducting ultrasound examinations efficiently, providing accurate reporting to support proper diagnosis and patient management, ensuring adherence to national clinical protocols and hospital guidelines, and maintaining proper documentation of all imaging procedures.
The Ultrasound Technician/Sonographer will also ensure the proper use, maintenance, and cleanliness of ultrasound equipment, follow infection prevention and control measures during all procedures, support and guide junior staff when required, participate in clinical discussions and departmental meetings, contribute to capacity building activities through training and knowledge sharing, and coordinate with hospital management and relevant departments to support effective and quality healthcare service delivery.
Job Description:
- To perform ultrasound examinations accurately and efficiently for patients at Balkh 50 Beds Infectious Disease Hospital.
- To contribute to proper diagnosis and patient management through timely and accurate ultrasound reporting.
- To support medical staff in diagnosing infectious and non-infectious conditions through imaging services.
- To ensure all ultrasound procedures are conducted according to national clinical protocols and hospital guidelines.
- To provide technical guidance and support to junior staff when required.
- To maintain proper documentation and reporting of all ultrasound examinations.
- To ensure proper use, maintenance, and cleanliness of ultrasound equipment.
- To follow infection prevention and control measures during all procedures.
- To participate in clinical discussions, case presentations, and departmental meetings.
- To contribute to capacity building activities through on-the-job training and knowledge sharing sessions.
- To ensure proper implementation of HMIS-related reporting for diagnostic services.
- To attend all meetings and training sessions organized by RHDO.
- To perform any other related tasks assigned by RHDO or hospital management.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree of MD or recognized medical qualification with specialization in Ultrasound approved by MoPH.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in ultrasound/imaging services at hospital level.
- Good knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound procedures and reporting.
- Good English language skills; computer skills are preferable.
- Flexible mentality and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to medical ethics, patient confidentiality, and teamwork.
