Job Description:
Job Summary
The Financing Officer is responsible for managing the end-to-end financing process, including client screening, financing appraisal, financial analysis, documentation, disbursement follow-up, and portfolio monitoring. The role ensures that all financing activities are conducted in compliance with institutional policies, financing procedures, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards while maintaining high-quality customer service and strong portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Screening & Assessment
- Conduct initial screening of potential clients to assess eligibility and business viability.
- Verify client identity, business activities, repayment capacity, and financing eligibility.
- Ensure compliance with KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) policies and procedures.
- Conduct field visits to validate client information and business operations.
- Assess client character, business stability, and financing needs.
2. Financing Appraisal & Analysis
- Prepare detailed financing appraisal reports, including cash flow analysis and risk assessment.
- Analyze client financial statements, income sources, household expenses, and repayment capacity.
- Identify financing risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Recommend suitable financing products based on client needs and institutional policies.
- Present financing cases to the Financing Committee or approving authority when required.
3. Documentation & Processing
- Ensure complete, accurate, and properly signed financing documentation before submission for approval.
- Prepare and maintain financing files in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with relevant departments and approving authorities for timely financing approval and disbursement.
- Maintain proper filing and record-keeping of all financing documents and client information.
4. Portfolio Management
- Monitor active financing portfolio for repayment performance and delinquency risks.
- Conduct regular client visits to ensure proper utilization of financing funds.
- Follow up on overdue payments and initiate recovery actions when necessary.
- Maintain portfolio quality indicators within acceptable institutional standards.
- Support collection and recovery activities in coordination with branch management.
5. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and local communities.
- Provide basic financial guidance and business advisory support to clients.
- Promote institutional products and services to potential and existing clients.
- Support client retention and customer satisfaction initiatives.
6. Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financing activity reports for branch management.
- Ensure full compliance with internal financing policies, operational procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
- Report suspicious activities, fraud indicators, or financing risks to branch management immediately.
- Support internal and external audit requirements when requested.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in microfinance, banking, or financing operations.
- Strong knowledge of financing analysis, cash flow evaluation, and financial documentation.
- Familiarity with microfinance operations and Islamic financing principles is an advantage.
- Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve portfolio performance targets.
- Willingness to conduct regular field visits.
