Job Description:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul hydraulic systems and components of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), including hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, fittings, and control units.
- Conduct inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance of hydraulic systems to identify leaks, pressure abnormalities, wear, and potential failures, ensuring safe and reliable equipment operation.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, technical manuals, and system diagrams to perform accurate fault finding, repairs, and system adjustments in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and servicing of all Ground Support Equipment (GSE), including motorized and non-motorized, light and heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring high standards of reliability and performance.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults in GSE and vehicles in accordance with manufacturer manuals, workshop procedures, and supervisor instructions.
- Test equipment and vehicles after maintenance or repair to ensure proper functioning of engines, transmissions, steering, braking systems, and instruments.
- Conduct final inspections and quality checks on major repairs before releasing equipment for operational use.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns on the ramp or operational areas, performing on-site repairs or temporary fixes to minimize disruption to operations.
- Collect and manage spare parts from stores, ensuring proper documentation and accountability.
- Ensure proper handover between shifts by completing outstanding work and maintaining continuity of maintenance activities.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition, ensuring safekeeping and arranging replacement of damaged or worn-out tools.
- Support and participate in the training and development of junior mechanics and apprentices.
- Coordinate and cooperate with other mechanics and operational teams to ensure efficient repair and maintenance activities.
- Perform vehicle road tests and operate equipment as required, holding the necessary driving license.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and personal protective requirements.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental practices during all maintenance activities.
- Comply with all applicable company policies, aviation regulations, and customer requirements.
- Report any incidents, equipment failures, safety concerns, or irregularities to supervisors in a timely manner.
- Perform additional duties, including cleaning and washing of GSE during preventive and periodic maintenance, as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Job Requirements:
- Education:
- Basic education; ability to read and write. Completion of secondary school or higher grades is preferable
- Technical/vocational diploma in:
- Hydraulic systems and components
- Hydraulic pumps, cylinders, hoses, and valves
- Automotive mechanics
- Diesel mechanics
- Heavy equipment maintenance
- Electromechanical systems
- Experience:
- 3 years working experience in maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems used in GSE and heavy equipment.
- Experience working with airport ground support equipment is preferred
- Other Requirements:
- Strong planning and time management abilities.
- Fair knowledge of Company’s activities to know basic training requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to understand the company’s standards and accreditations
- Ability to speak and write Dari/Pashto
- Understand Basic English
