Job Description:

 

Project Planning and Coordination

  • Develop project plans in coordination with the finance team and other relevant departments to ensure the timely availability of resources for planned activities.
  • Work closely with the finance team to investigate variances between planned and actual expenditures and revise plans accordingly.
  • Coordinate closely with the procurement/logistics department to ensure all procurements are completed according to plan, within budget, and on time.
  • Support field offices and oversee procurement processes in coordination with the procurement department at the main office.
  • Lead and initiate project amendments and changes while ensuring compliance with donor and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper and timely project closeout processes

Financial Management and Reporting

  • Support the finance department in the timely submission of financial reports to donors.
  • Ensure the timely submission of both technical and financial reports according to the reporting calendar agreed upon in project contracts.
  • Review quarterly reports before submission to donors.
  • Conduct risk analysis of overall projects and report findings to the Program Coordinator (Health & Nutrition).

Human Resources Management

  • Work closely with the HR Department in Kabul to ensure positions are filled according to AYSO procedures, approved staffing structures, and budget availability.
  • Prepare draft job descriptions for technical staff and support HR during the recruitment process.
  • Ensure staff annual performance appraisals are conducted in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution among staff whenever required.

Field Coordination and Supervision

  • Conduct field office visits to orient provincial management on donor and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure regular supportive supervision is conducted at field offices and that necessary technical support is provided.
  • Provide feedback to provincial management on findings from supportive supervision conducted by the team.
  • Actively participate in relevant meetings at both central and provincial levels.
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan and direct activities across multiple projects simultaneously, including travel to field/project sites.

 

Job Requirements:

Qualification & Experience:

The Health and Nutrition Coordinator must hold MD, preferably MPH as well as public health-relevant short and mid-term courses. He should have at least ten years of working experience in different fields of public health such as BPHS, EPHS, and other health projects implemented as vertical programs. He should have good knowledge and understanding of management, donor requirements, report writing, and coordination.

Communication and Technical Skills

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills in English, Persian, and Pashtu.
  • Possess strong report-writing skills and contribute effectively to proposal development.
