Business Grants support for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs)
Invitation
The Danish Refugee Council is inviting entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs who fall under the Small and medium enterprise (SME) category and are in need of financial support for starting or expanding small businesses to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) and Application form for participating in the business grants programme.
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has worked in Afghanistan since the 1990s through Humanitarian Mine Action. In 2011, DRC expanded its scope and reach of programming to provide multi-sector and holistic packages of assistance.
Danish Refugee Council (DRC), with financial support from United Nations Development Program Afghanistan is implementing a multi-sectoral project titled ‘ABADEI” in East, West, South and Central regions of Afghanistan
Through the one-year interventions, DRC aims to promote self-reliance among acutely vulnerable households and foster community resilience through cash-based emergency response and carefully phased livelihoods, protection, and peacebuilding activities implemented across Afghanistan’s Western (Herat and Farah), Central (Kabul, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Paktika and Logar), Southern (Kandahar, Zabul and Nimroz) and Eastern (Nangahar and Kunar) regions.

Market sensitivity: business in priority sectors will be given preferences
Sustainability of the business
Feasibility of the business
Social impact that the business creates
Submission requirements
To apply, please complete the attached EOI and Application form in any of national language (Pashtu & Dari) and submit through given email address or DRC offices.
Please select only one of the following provinces:
- Jalalabad
- Kunar
Selected applicants will be invited for a more detailed application process.
Closing date for applications: Aug 18, 2022

Please send your application through msme.applications.east@gmail.com with the subject title of your email “Expression of Interest – SME (Province name)” before closing date (18/08/2022).
