Terms of Reference for Psychological Counselling
Cordaid Background:
Cordaid is an internationally operating value-based emergency relief and development organisation, working in and on fragility.
Cordaid has been active in Afghanistan since 2001, working for a stable and prosperous country. Abiding by the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and operational independence, Cordaid is committed to stand by the people of Afghanistan and deliver its lifesaving support.
Cordaid has around 200 staff in Afghanistan. This include both female & male staff who are working with Cordaid in Kabul and in field offices.
We are active in a significant part of the country. We deliver humanitarian aid in seven provinces (Daikundi, Ghor, Herat, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Paktika and Khost); we provide health care services in eight provinces (Balkh, Ghazni, Herat, Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Nimruz, and Paktia); and we promote private sector development in three provinces (Kabul, Kandahar, and Herat).
Objective:
We are looking for a health service provider (Hospitals, clinics and other health service providers) who can deliver quality psychological counselling and treatment (OPD and in-patient care) to Cordaid staff around the country. The Psychosocial Service Provider will be responsible to provide all sorts of psycho-social counselling and treatment to Cordaid staff in a proper place that is comfortable for the staff members who are referred to them and their privacy and details are kept confidential.
Deliverables:
Provide basic psychosocial counselling and treatment support (OPD and in-patient care) for Cordaid staff.
Familiarize with existing pathways or, where necessary, develop a system for referral case and case management needing further PSS support or other services.
Provide context-related PSS support to the individual Cordaid staff based on their need.
Conduct specific psychosocial group activities adapted and appropriate to the group’s needs and capacities.
Any other PSS related services required.
Required Criteria:
Certified PSS service provider (Hospitals/Health Centres) registered with Ministry of Public Health.
Proven experience and equipped in PSS case management.
Experience in staff management, public outreach/ counselling, community mobilization, and coordination with stakeholders.
Having capacity of keeping records and sharing the data with Cordaid management considering the privacy issues of the patients.
