Our evidence-based and impact-focused approach helps aid agencies to design and deliver need-based and efficient services that transform vulnerable communities. To ensure timely and quality service delivery, the firm employs a diverse team of national and international experts bringing decades of experience to draw upon. VAC strengthens MIS and MEAL capacities through specialized training and monitoring.

About the Training:

VAC intends to conduct a series of practical training sessions on the use of KoBoToolbox – a digital data collection tool for quantitative surveys – to help organizations and their partners build capacity in the use of digital data collection. KoBoToolbox is a suite of tools for data collection for use by researchers and humanitarian agencies. It is a free and open-source cloud-based user-friendly application. This platform is especially helpful in data collection in humanitarian emergencies and other challenging environments to address urgent data collection needs. It is a one-stop solution for collecting, analysing, and managing data acquired from the field.

Objective:

The training aims to enhance the capacity of participants to use KoBoToolbox – a digital data collection tool.

Importance of Kobo Application:

Organizations need to have access to timely, accurate, reliable, and complete data for certain evidence-based decisions, therefore, it’s handy for the organizations to have the systems, capacity, and technology to enable them to do so and obtain the competitive advantage. Kobo Collect is a free cloud-based application that supports organizations to transform from typical paper-based data collection to digital and real-time data solutions by offering the following added values throughout the data life cycle;

  1. Timeliness: Kobo removes the data entry process which is mostly costly and time-consuming, it enables the users to have access to quality real-time data.
  2. Data quality: By adding validations and relevance to the questions, Kobo supports the data quality.
  3. Data security: Paper-based data collection is always risky and hard to manage, by Kobo, organizations can ensure data security, not only there will not be any hard copy of the data, but also, the authentications can further restrict the access of unauthorized individuals.
  4. Data processing: Kobo also offers data processing services (data analysis including geographic information services).

Therefore, this course allows INGOs and NGOs to offer consistent and comprehensive training to their staff and partners on developing digital KoboToolbox forms.

Who Uses the Kobo Toolbox?

KoboToolbox was designed for humanitarian aid professionals, but is adaptable to suit the data collection needs of other organizations.
