Request For Short-term assignment for Conducting Advanced Proposal Writing and Report Writing

1.Project Background
The Strengthening of Community-Based Health Care and Provision of Education and Employment Opportunities for Girls and Young Women in Five Provinces of Afghanistan with the objective of strengthening community-based health care and provision of education and professional development/employment opportunities, with a particular focus on girls and young women, will be implemented by AKF’s Health and Education sectors in close coordination with local and national stakeholders in five provinces of Afghanistan. 
For the Health sector, the main strategies to achieve the project objective include a) revitalizing the community-based health care system through capacity building and mobilizing of Community Health Workers (CHWs), b) improving the referral system between communities and health facilities with a particular focus on women and girls, c) increasing community knowledge and awareness on good practices of health and nutrition, d) providing Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) and e) improving community-based nutrition care including screening, early case identification and provision of nutrition counselling/food packages. 
For the Education sector, the main strategies to achieve the project objectives include; a) providing adolescent girls and young women with professional development/employment opportunities as ECD teachers/volunteers, b) empowering adolescent girls and young women with valuable life/psychosocial skills, promoting their personal growth and enhancing  sustainable employment, c) increasing access to quality and equitable ECD programs for out of preschool girls and boys, d) strengthening parents/caregivers and communities’ knowledge, skills, engagement and support for holistic child development and education, and e) improving academic performance and increasing confidence among school-aged children and adolescents. 

2.Rationale 
One of the core interventions for our organization is to build staff capacity, and AKF is committed to training staff in advanced proposal writing. This training aims to enable staff to actively participate in proposal writing, advocating for fundraising efforts to support Afghan communities. Additionally, it will enhance their ability to produce high-quality reports for donors. As a result, AKF has planned a five-day training program specifically for national and provincial staff in the health and education sectors, focusing on advanced proposal and report writing skills. This initiative is designed to empower participants to secure funding and effectively communicate project outcomes, ultimately benefiting the communities they serve.

3.Scope of work / Overall objective
To undertake comprehensive proposal and report writing for the health and education 20 staff of AKF-Afghanistan at the national and provincial level, with the objective of delivering meticulously crafted, high-quality reports and proposals that effectively communicate our initiatives and impact. Our provincial and national colleagues play a vital role in proposal writing and report preparation. To enhance their skills and ensure the submission of high-quality reports on both a quarterly and annual basis, it is essential to provide them with targeted training. This development opportunity is particularly crucial for staff in both the health and education sectors, as it will empower them to contribute more effectively to our organizational goals and improve our overall impact.
This training program is specifically designed for national and provincial coordinators and managers in the health and education sectors. Its primary objectives are to enhance participants' reporting skills and develop their proposal writing competence. The training aims to equip participants with the ability to write high-quality reports that effectively communicate project outcomes to both external and internal stakeholders. This includes focusing on key components such as structure, clarity, and data presentation, ensuring that reports meet the expectations of donors and government agencies. Additionally, the program will empower participants to create comprehensive proposals that can secure donor funding for community projects, teaching essential skills like defining project goals, budgeting, and aligning proposals with donor priorities. Over five days of intensive training, participants will engage in interactive workshops, group activities, and peer reviews, fostering hands-on learning and collaboration. Led by certified trainers with extensive experience in humanitarian projects in Afghanistan, this program aims to bolster the capacity of health and education professionals, ultimately contributing to the betterment of Afghan communities through well-documented and funded initiatives. Participants will leave with enhanced skills in both report and proposal writing, better equipped to advocate for their projects and secure the necessary funding to support their communities effectively.

Main duties and responsibilities
The institution will manage to impart quality training on Advance Proposal writing and report writing as mentioned above to national and regional staff of AKF working in targeted provinces of Chanel funded project. Further responsibility of the consultancy is mentioned as follows:
-Development of training materials including modules, chapters and power point presentations.
-Development of pre-and post-training questions.
-Development of training assessment questions.
-Development of training reports and submission to AKF.
-Distribution of Certificate for participants.

4.Methodology
The institution will be responsible for ensuring that the trainees get maximum knowledge on Advance proposal writing and Report writing via adopting various methodologies.

-Role plays and simulations
-Brainstorming sessions
Also, it will be better to use the local language as well in some instances.

The institution will have to develop and submit below deliverable to AKF at the end of the training:
-Training modules

-Pre and post test results
-Assessment of the training
-Digital Copies of All Materials
-Certificates of Completion

7.Qualifications Required
The institution will ensure that trainers are experts and certified in proposal and report writing, possessing practical knowledge and skills in implementing humanitarian projects in Afghanistan. This expertise will enhance the training's relevance and effectiveness.

8.Terms of Payment
Upon completion of the training program, the finance department will manage to pay the training fees as per the AKF finance policy.
