Description
The Atta Welfare Foundation (AWF), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving health infrastructure in Afghanistan, is inviting proposals from qualified firms for the provision of comprehensive professional services related to the overall design and development of the Afghan Medical Complex (AMC). The AMC is envisioned as a landmark healthcare institution located in Phase 1 New Kabul City, purpose-built to deliver specialized medical services—particularly in oncology—while also integrating diagnostic, surgical, educational, and wellness components within a cohesive and sustainable hospital campus.
This Request for Proposal (RFP) seeks experienced firms or consortia capable of delivering end-to-end architectural, engineering, and healthcare facility design solutions that reflect both international best practices and local regulatory requirements. The selected firm(s) will be expected to conceptualize and design the entire medical complex in a unified manner, ensuring spatial efficiency, future scalability, and patient-centered functionality across all departments. This includes, but is not limited to, master planning, architectural design, structural and MEP engineering, HVAC, medical space planning, sustainability strategies, and infrastructure integration.
Firms with proven experience in the design of complex healthcare facilities, especially in resource-constrained or post-conflict settings, are strongly encouraged to apply.
