PROVISION OF MEDICINES FOR HELMAND PROVINCE
Improved Emergency PHC and Polio Eradication Project (8 SHCs and BHCs) The World Health Organization (WHO), with financial support and implemented by WADAN Afghanistan, operates eight health clinics. This project is being carried out in selected districts of Helmand Province, including (Nawa, Garmser, Kajaki, Washir, and Baghran) targeting populations living in impoverished and emergency-affected areas. The project aims to strengthen emergency and primary healthcare services, including the provision of polio vaccination for children.
All activities are organized through fixed health centers and mobile vaccination outreach. A dedicated four-wheel mini-e-bus is available daily for the outreach team to cover catchment areas, engage with communities and health shuras, and provide transportation for team leads between the field and the provincial capital of Helmand for coordination meetings and regular trainings.
