Request For Afghan United Bank (AUB)

Post-Conversion Shariah Audit

We are pleased to present this proposal for the outsourcing of Post-Conversion Shariah Audit Services for  Afghan United Bank (AUB). Following the Bank’s strategic transition towards Islamic banking operations, AUB is committed to upholding  the highest standards of Shariah compliance, governance, and ethical financial  practices.  The  Bank  recognizes  the  critical  importance  of  conducting  a  comprehensive  and independent  post-conversion  Shariah  audit  to  ensure  that  the  transformation  from  conventional  to Islamic banking has been effectively implemented.

In the context of Islamic banking principles, to ensure strict adherence to Shariah principles and eliminate non-permissible elements. AUB seeks to engage a qualified and experienced external party to perform an assessment  of  its  post-conversion developed shari’ah compliant products,  contracts,  and  operations, governance framework, and legacy portfolio treatment following conversion.

By outsourcing this audit to a specialized firm, AUB aims to:

•  Validate full compliance with Shariah principles
•  Ensure alignment with regulatory expectations
•  Confirm proper cleansing and treatment of pre-conversion conventional elements
•  Strengthen overall Shariah governance and control environment

This proposal outlines AUB’s vision, objectives, and expectations for the post-conversion Shariah audit  engagement. We invite qualified firms with proven expertise in Islamic finance and Shariah audit to submit proposals aligned with these requirements.
