Since 2006, the French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (FMIC) in Kabul, Afghanistan, has served patients from all 34 provinces. Operated through a public-private partnership among the Governments of Afghanistan and France, La Chaine de L’Espoir, and the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), with management by the Aga Khan University, FMIC delivers world-class medical services and drives healthcare innovation in the region.

FMIC provides specialized consultations, advanced diagnostics (CT, MRI, radiology), surgeries, a 24/7 pharmacy, and state-of-the-art laboratory testing. It has recorded over 2.3 million patient visits and consultations, conducted 6.8 million laboratory tests, and performed 59,000 surgeries, including more than 5,700 paediatric and adult cardiac procedures. As Afghanistan’s first SafeCare-certified hospital (recertified in 2024), FMIC has pioneered open-heart surgery, advanced diagnostics, and telemedicine, earning the IHF Award in 2021.

With a 176-bed capacity and a highly skilled Afghan medical team, FMIC is committed to advancing healthcare excellence. Through its Patient Welfare Support Programme, it has provided over $57.6 million in subsidized or free care, ensuring equitable access to high-quality treatment for vulnerable populations. 

Job Summary

a.      Regular Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that supplies are available at-least for fifteen days in Distribution center. In case of any shortage of items immediately inform the supervisor.
  2. Make sure that supplies are properly charged to patients and units.
  3. All the expired items must be return to warehouse for appropriate disposal and adjustment whenever it is required.
  4. Maintain the proper record of sterilized items and ensure the re-sterilization on timely basis.
  5. Physical verification of 20 items on daily basis and in case of any discrepancy, immediately inform the supervisor.
  6. Transferring of items from one store to another when necessary.
  7. Any other related official task assigned by the Supervisor.

b.      Periodic Responsibilities

c.       Physical inventory of Distribution center is carried out on Quarter basis.

Job Requirements

Academic & professional qualifications

·         High school graduate

 

Work experience:

One year of related working experience is preferred.

 

Knowledge and competencies (State skills, abilities & traits required)   

-          Good Knowledge about hospital supplies.

-          Good communication and interpersonal skills, in local and English language.

-          Ability to work under pressure and difficult working condition.

Good computer skills specially MS Office.
