Job Summary

Job Purpose

The MHPSS Supervisor will provide technical and operational supervision to MHPSS staff and activities, ensuring the delivery of safe, ethical, high-quality, and child-centered psychosocial and mental health services to children and other vulnerable groups.

Duties and Responsibilities

·       Supervise and provide technical guidance to MHPSS Counselors, Social Workers, and relevant project staff.

·       Ensure quality implementation of individual and group counseling and other MHPSS activities.

·       Review and monitor MHPSS case management, assessments, referrals, follow-up, and case documentation.

·       Provide regular case consultation, coaching, and technical support to MHPSS staff.

·       Ensure adherence to MHPSS, child protection, safeguarding, confidentiality, and ethical standards.

·       Monitor MHPSS activities in Child-Friendly Spaces and other project locations and identify areas for improvement.

·       Support staff in developing appropriate intervention and follow-up plans for children and families.

·       Coordinate referrals with specialized mental health, health, protection, and other relevant service providers.

·       Support the development and delivery of psychoeducation, parenting, awareness, and community-based MHPSS activities.

·       Conduct regular field visits and provide feedback to field teams to improve service quality.

·       Review and consolidate monthly and quarterly MHPSS reports and ensure timely submission.

·       Monitor MHPSS indicators, service quality, case trends, and identified gaps, and provide recommendations to management.

·       Identify capacity-building needs and organize/co-facilitate relevant training and coaching sessions.

·       Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure safe and responsible management of MHPSS and case-related information.

·       Coordinate with Program, Child Protection, MEAL, and other relevant teams to ensure integrated services.

·       Perform other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

Requirements

·       Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field; Master's degree is an advantage.

·       Minimum 3–5 years of relevant MHPSS experience, preferably in humanitarian/NGO settings.

·       Previous experience supervising MHPSS, counseling, or social work teams.

·       Strong knowledge of child protection, MHPSS principles, safeguarding, and ethical standards.

·       Experience in case management, referrals, documentation, and quality assurance.

·       Strong communication, coaching, leadership, and report-writing skills.

·       Ability to analyze cases and provide appropriate technical guidance.

·       Good computer skills, particularly MS Office.

·       Ability and willingness to travel to project sites and monitor field activities.

·       Fluency in English and relevant local languages is an advantage.
