Job Summary

Job Purpose
The Poultry Hatchery Trainer will provide practical training and technical support to beneficiaries on poultry hatchery management, chick production, poultry care, and small-scale poultry business development to improve household livelihoods and income opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

Conduct practical training on poultry hatchery management and chicken production.
Train beneficiaries on selection, handling, and storage of fertile eggs.
Demonstrate proper operation and maintenance of incubators and hatchery equipment.
Train beneficiaries on temperature, humidity, ventilation, egg turning, and other incubation requirements.
Provide guidance on chick handling, brooding, feeding, watering, and basic poultry management.
Promote hatchery hygiene, sanitation, biosecurity, and disease prevention practices.

Guide beneficiaries on proper poultry housing and environmental conditions.
Support beneficiaries in reducing egg and chick mortality and improving hatchability.
Provide basic guidance on production costs, record keeping, pricing, and marketing.
Prepare training plans and required training materials.
Maintain beneficiary attendance, training, and production records.
Assess beneficiaries' practical skills and provide follow-up technical support.
Submit regular training and progress reports.
Perform other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

12th Graduate, Bachelor's Degree is preferred or relevant vocational qualification in Veterinary Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Poultry Production, or a related field.
Relevant experience in poultry farming, hatchery management, or poultry training.
Practical knowledge of incubators, brooding, poultry feeding, biosecurity, and basic disease prevention.
Strong training, facilitation, and communication skills.
Good command of local languages.
Proficiency in English, with good speaking, writing, and reporting skills.
