Road Engineer – Road Construction Project

Afghan German Bakhtar Railway Road Building Constriction company is seeking a qualified and experienced Road Engineer The position is for the full duration of the road construction project, including construction supervision and defect liability support if required The Road Engineer will report directly to the Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all road construction activities including earthworks, subgrade preparation, sub-base, base course, and asphalt works.
• Ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved design drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Monitor and control the quality of construction materials used on site (soil, aggregates, asphalt, etc.).
• Conduct field inspections and testing to ensure compliance with engineering and QA/QC requirements.
• Verify workmanship and ensure corrective actions are implemented for any non-conforming work.
• Measure and record quantities of completed work for payment certification and progress tracking.
• Prepare daily site reports and monthly technical progress reports.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, QA/QC team, survey team, and subcontractors for smooth execution of works.
• Identify technical issues on site and propose practical engineering solutions.
• Ensure adherence to safety and environmental requirements during construction activities.

 Conditions of Employment

• Full-time site-based position throughout the project duration
• Required to be present on-site during all critical construction activities
• Must strictly follow project specifications, drawings, and engineering standards
• Compliance with safety, environmental, and quality procedures is mandatory
• Maintain accurate records and ensure transparency in reporting
• Subject to performance evaluation by the Project Manager/Consultant
• Employment may be terminated in case of poor performance or misconduct

 Skills and Competencies

• Strong technical and analytical engineering skills
• Knowledge of road construction materials and testing methods
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Good reporting and documentation skills
• Strong problem-solving and site supervision abilities
• Teamwork and coordination skills

• Education: B.Sc. in Civil Engineering
• Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in road/highway construction projects
• Strong technical knowledge of road construction methods and materials
• Experience in supervision of large-scale earthworks, pavement layers, and asphalt works
• Familiarity with construction standards, drawings, and technical specifications
• Ability to conduct field testing and quality control activities
• The candidate should be speak And write Pashto, Dari fluent  and English
