About Social Development Agricultural & Reconstruction Organization SDARO:

Social Agricultural Development & Reconstruction  Organization (SDARO) is an Afghan legally registered with Ministry of Commerce under License No. 5766 is a national, nongovernmental, non- profitable, non-political, non-partisan and non-sectarian humanitarian organization committed to the development, welfare and humanitarian assistance of Afghans in the country.

The Peace Development and Initiative Organization (PDIO), a non-governmental and non-profitable organization, establised in 2019 has faced vast changes along the current government:

  1. In order to create a bank account the Minstry of Commerce said that PDIO has to eliminate women from leadership/board of directory and word “Peace” from the title of their NGO.
  2. The directory board of PDIO was rejected by the DF authorites because the majority and leading positions were women.
  3. With the coming of DF authorites all previous NGOs whose leadership was in the hands of women were dissolved.
  4. In order to create a bank account PDIO has changed its name to SDARO and has aligned its name and policies according to the current government.

Job Description:

  • Develop marketing strategies to promote handicrafts in local and regional markets.

  • Identify sales opportunities in local bazaars, fairs, exhibitions, and shops.

  • Organize and manage stalls or booths during market days and community events.

  • Build connections with shop owners, traders, and buyers to display and sell products.

  • Assist artisans in packaging, labeling, and presenting products in a market-friendly way.

  • Collect customer feedback and suggest improvements to product quality or design.

  • Promote products through flyers, social media, and word of mouth in the local community.

  • Keep records of sales, customer contacts, and inventory.

  • Support training sessions for artisans on marketing, pricing, and customer service.

  • Ensure branding and quality standards are maintained across all products.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 12th grade (high school graduate) is required.
    Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
    Training or short courses in sales, marketing, or handicraft promotion will be an advantage.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, sales, or small business support—preferably in handicrafts or similar products.

  • Good understanding of local markets, customer preferences, and sales strategies.

  • Experience in organizing or participating in fairs, exhibitions, or market events is an asset.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to promote products using basic social media tools and printed materials.

  • Knowledge of packaging, labeling, and product presentation techniques.

  • Ability to speak and write in Pashto, Dari, and English.

  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.

  • Willingness to travel to markets, exhibitions, and field locations when needed.
