About DAARTT:

DAARTT (Danish Assistance to Afghan Rehabilitation and Technical Training) is a Danish based organization established in Afghanistan by the Danish People’s Aid (DPA) in 2003.

The organization is specialized in construction and has so far built more than 200 schools, clinics and other buildings in Afghanistan. DAARTT is also engaged in humanitarian and development activities supporting the most vulnerable groups/population of the country. DAARTT got and maintains membership with ACBAR and several technical clusters; such as WASH, Education, ES/NFI and Health clusters.

About the project:

The overall objective of the project is to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to the shock affected vulnerable population in Bilcheragh and Dawlat Abad districts of Faryab province through by provision of Cash Assistance for Shelter Repair (Minor & Major Repair) and Transitional Shelter support.

Main components of the project are: 

  1. Provision of Cash assistance for Repair or upgrade of existing shelters that are in poor conditions.
  2. Support to construct transitional and permanent shelters – construction of one-bedroom and two-bedroom shelters.

Job Description:

  1. Supporting shelter engineering team in coordinating and conducting rapid needs assessments at field level using standard ES-NFI Kobo Tools and other indorsed/approved tools.
  2. Establish Beneficiary Selection Committee (BSC) composed of community representatives (Shura), district authorities, ANDMA/DoRR, humanitarian partners, DAARTT Staff, including vulnerable groups (women and people living with disabilities) in the target locations.
  3. Awareness raising about Protection, GBV and PSEA: He/she will ensure that the awareness level of the project staff and BSC members is improved at all levels. Various means such as workshops, staff training, development of educational materials and inter-agency coordination will be used to achieve this objective.
  4. Maintain proper coordination with relevant groups, including GBV and PSEA related groups. Reporting identified cases to the technical working groups.
  5. Carry out household surveys/assessment and conduct Beneficiary identification and selection processes according to the pre-defined criteria.
  6. Collect data and information about the needs of the target areas.
  7. Supporting M&E team by collecting data and information for further analysis and reporting.
  8. Take care of data, data entry, beneficiaries database, and making sure that the data of the beneficiaries database, kobo and tokens are the same and matching with each other.
  9. Maintain proper coordination with relevant government department, key stakeholders, target communities, beneficiaries, and local authorities.
  10. Involve Community Representatives throughout the process of assessment and project implementation.
  11. Conduct baseline surveys on community, develop and implement community mobilization plan.
  12. Provide report and findings of the survey to main office for data analysis and future uses.
  13. Take care of arrangement for Provision of assistance/distribution to the beneficiaries.
  14. Resolves any dispute related to projects interventions at community level.
  15. Keep update data proper documentation filling and reporting to immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
  16. Take care of PDM data collection through Kobo with getting support from M&E Officer and project team leader.
  17. Conduct meetings with the Local Community Shuras Elders and CDCs and Islamic Scholars.
  18. Attending all meetings arranged by the project team leader and organization.
  19. Any other relevant tasks given by project team leader or M&E Officer.

Job Requirements:

  1. Graduated from a recognized University (bachelor’s degree in social science, Law, Human rights, or Natural Science).
  2. At least 4 years relevant experience in field implementation, mobilization, working with communities and carrying out assessments.
  3. Have experience in GBV/Protection management within humanitarian or development organizations.
  4. Excellent knowledge of data collection and management via Kobo Toolbox.
  5. Good English and computer skills.
  6. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Has the ability to produce basic reports.
  8. Good knowledge of MS Office Package (Word and Excel).
  9. Willingness to travel to hard-to-reach areas and project sites.
  10. Familiar with local languages.
  11. Familiar with local traditions and customs.
