Afghan Community and Health Rehabilitation Organization (ACHRO) are non-political, non for profit, non- governmental organization registered with the Ministry of Economy of GIRoA on April, 08, 2010 under registration # 1658. ACHRO’s   DUNS # is 561208134. ACHRO has also been registered or recognized as partner with more than 40 national and International organizations. ACHRO is active Partner of (UNHCR) and (WHH). ACHRO has established and maintains network with civil society, community-based social institutions, and government line ministries in Afghanistan. ACHRO’s core sectors of activities include health, emergency/relief, capacity building, and livelihood and development sectors. ACHRO is currently implementing UNHCR-funded projects in the South-East, south and central regions of the country.  

The PSS counselors shall operate like mobile teams and provide counseling sessions at the IDP and high-return locations

Conduct training sessions for PSS counselors on different topics such as the main principles of counseling, communication skills, self-esteem, stress management, depression, anxiety disorder, etc.

Conduct sessions by PSS counselors at different levels (individual, community, family, and group).

The sessions will be conducted on regular basis for instance weekly, biweekly, or as per needs including cases referred by ACHRO or other stakeholders.

Conduct MHPSS sessions in women’s community centers, Community Centers, partner offices, homes of POCs, and other applicable places

Conduct a standard follow-up call within a specified time after the first session is held, for serious depression and serious mental illness follow-up is conducted daily or a couple of days, two to three times, or if it is necessary follow-up will take place until the patient gets to recover.

Frequently talk to them on Telephone calls, allowing patients to provide real-time input, or if feasible pay a visit to the beneficiary’s location. Furthermore, give reminders regarding the patient’s next appointment Any other duties assigned by the project manager

4 years of relevant experience in MHPSS Counseling,

Demonstrated experience in the management of a project of similar complexity required.

Excellent knowledge of PSS principles and best practices.

Experience working with or for international organizations, experience with UN Agencies, Funds, and Programs an advantage.

Extensive experience working with Afghan government entities is desired.

Good computer literacy – MS office applications, web-based management information systems

Must have good communication skills with Pushto & Dari
