About Youth Health and Development Organization (YHDO):
YHDO is a non-governmental and non-for-profit organization established in 2009, registered with ministry of economy in Afghanistan. YHDO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based interventions

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently to patients
• Maintain and organize pharmacy stock and ensure proper storage of medicines
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in preparing stock requests and reports
• Ensure the labeling, packaging, and expiration tracking of all pharmaceuticals
• Assist in receiving and verifying drug deliveries
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and daily dispensing logs
• Support the hospital team in ensuring rational drug use and compliance with prescription protocols
• Follow infection prevention and control (IPC) measures during dispensing
• Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medication use (if needed)
• Support periodic physical counts and audits
• Participate in regular ward rounds and shift handovers (night duty)

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences from a recognized institute
• At least 3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or clinical setting
• Good knowledge of medicine classification, dosage, and storage conditions
• Familiarity with national essential medicines list and BPHS/EPHS drug guidelines
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari; English is an asset
