About Youth Health and Development Organization (YHDO):
YHDO is a non-governmental and non-for-profit organization established in 2009, registered with ministry of economy in Afghanistan. YHDO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based interventions

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, prepare, and analyze biological samples (blood, urine, etc.) according to protocols
• Conduct routine diagnostic tests including hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and parasitology
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and ensure cleanliness of the lab area
• Record and report test results accurately and timely to medical staff
• Ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards and infection control measures
• Manage laboratory supplies inventory and report shortages
• Support training of junior staff or interns as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information
• Comply with national laboratory guidelines and protocols
• Participate in regular ward rounds and shift handovers (night duty)

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field from a recognized institution
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory
• Familiarity with national laboratory guidelines and BPHS/EPHS standards
• Knowledge of quality assurance and infection control procedures
• Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari; English is an advantage
