About Youth Health and Development Organization (YHDO):
YHDO is a non-governmental and non-for-profit organization established in 2009, registered with ministry of economy in Afghanistan. YHDO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based interventions

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Emergency Room (ER), including triage, assessment, and stabilization
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and emergency interventions as prescribed
• Assist physicians during emergency procedures and resuscitations
• Monitor vital signs and patient responses to treatment
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all ER cases
• Ensure infection prevention and control (IPC) standards are strictly followed
• Maintain ER supplies and equipment in a state of readiness
• Collaborate with ambulance and referral systems for urgent patient transfers
• Provide emotional support to patients and families in crisis situations
• Remain available in the ER throughout the assigned shift and not rotate to other wards

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a recognized institution
• Valid registration with the Afghanistan Nurses and Midwives Council (ANMC)
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, including at least 2 year in an ER or trauma setting
• Strong skills in triage, emergency care, and quick clinical decision-making
• Familiarity with emergency medical protocols and BPHS/EPHS guidelines
• Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari; English is an asset
