OHW is operating since 2007 in the country with active membership with the national clusters and international donor agencies in Afghanistan including SWABAC, ACBAR, AICS, BAAG, AWN and most of the national and international Clusters operates based in Afghanistan.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a detailed action plan for training activities aligned with the project workplan and objectives.
- Design training curricula and develop context-specific modules, handouts, in the local language, adapted to the education and skill levels of the participants.
- Ensure training materials cover key areas such as land preparation, water management, planting techniques, crop care, pest and disease management, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
- Facilitate interactive and participatory training sessions in the local language, using practical demonstrations, hands-on techniques, and real-life examples.
- Train beneficiaries on the effective use of distributed vegetable seeds, including spacing, watering, weeding, and crop rotation practices.
- Teach planning and design of home gardens based on available space, sunlight, soil quality, and seasonal vegetable selection.
- Assess the knowledge and skill levels of trainees before and after training sessions to measure learning outcomes.
- Collect feedback from beneficiaries and adjust training approaches as necessary.
- Prepare individual session reports and a comprehensive training summary report, documenting attendance, topics covered, challenges faced, and recommendations.
- Coordinate closely with the project team, community leaders, and other local stakeholders to plan and deliver trainings.
- Participate in community meetings and mobilization activities related to seed distribution and training follow-up.
- Serve as a resource person for technical questions and field support during and after training.
- Provide practical advice and solutions to challenges faced by beneficiaries in home gardening, such as pest issues, soil improvement, and water management.
Promote sustainable and climate-resilient practices in home gardening and vegetable production.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from Agriculture faculty.
Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of training and experiences of training in the same field.
Computer skill specially on Ms Word, Ms. Excel and PowerPoint and internet.
Fluency in spoken Pashto, Dari and English is required
