About Mediothek Afghanistan (MCA):

Mediothek Afghanistan was founded in Germany in the year 1993 with the aim of strengthening education in Afghanistan and keeping the Afghan cultural and intellectual heritage alive. Capacity building of youths to support a developed, sustainable, and peaceful future for Afghanistan and the region through education, community building, and media development. Delivery of humanitarian assistance for people, especially women, most in need, implementing the humanitarian-development.

Job Description:

Mediothek Afghanistan (MCA) aims to empower Afghan men and women by providing them with essential entrepreneurial skills to help them establish and grow small businesses. The training will take place across six provinces of Afghanistan: Kabul, Kunduz, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Bamian, and Balkh, and will focus four key entrepreneurial modules.

The four modules include:
1. Business Development and Planning,
2. Operational Management
3. (Digital) Marketing
4. Business Finance

As a Trainer, you will be responsible for facilitating one-day workshops for 20 participants in each session. Your role will be to deliver the content developed by the module expert, ensuring that all training is engaging, inclusive, and relevant to the local context. You will create a safe, supportive learning environment where participants feel empowered to ask questions and actively participate.

The project aims to equip Afghan men and women with the skills and knowledge necessary to build sustainable businesses and contribute to their communities' economic growth. Trainers are expected to not only impart technical skills but also to foster an environment of motivation and encouragement, helping participants gain the confidence to start their own businesses.

Job Requirements:

We are seeking experienced and passionate trainers to deliver entrepreneurial skills training to men and women in six provinces of Afghanistan. Trainers will be responsible for facilitating one-day workshops in each of the four modules outlined. The classes will be gender-segregated, and trainers should have the ability to create a positive, engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions for 20 participants per class, per module.
  • Teach four core modules:
    1. Business Development and Planning
    2. Operational Management
    3. (Digital) Marketing
    4. Business Finance
  • Use locally relevant examples and materials, ensuring cultural and gender sensitivity.
  • Maintain a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
  • Foster an environment where participants feel safe to ask questions and engage in discussions.
  • Provide individual guidance to trainees on business plan development and other course materials.
  • Work closely with local experts and project managers to ensure alignment with the training goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching, training, or coaching, preferably in entrepreneurship or small business development.
  • Familiarity with the specific needs of Afghan men and women, especially in rural or underserved areas.
  • Fluent in Dari and/or Pashto.
  • Ability to adapt to the local context and the different learning styles of participants.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage classroom logistics.

  • Gender-sensitive and able to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Patience and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Friendly and approachable, with the ability to inspire and motivate trainees.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
