About NSRDO:

New Society Reconstruction & Development Organization (NSRDO) is a civil, nongovernmental, nonpolitical & nonprofit organization, founded by a team of committed Afghan citizens. The main areas of focus of the organization are equal access to justice and services for women, reduction of domestic violence, rehabilitation of battered women and abused children. We also work in peace building, enhancement of democracy, defending of human rights, Health and Education. NSRDO commenced its operations in 2005 in the Northern Province of Baghlan. Since then, (NSRDO) has been operating in Kabul and other provinces of Afghanistan and has regional offices in Kunduz, Kandahar, Herat, Paktia and Jalalabad along with its head office in Kabul.

NSRDO was registered in the Ministry of Planning, by decision no (951) dated 25/6/1383 and entitled to work in the capital Kabul and other provinces. This is also reregistered in the Ministry of Economy by decision no (598) dated 8/6/06. Furthermore, NSRDO is registered in Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled (MoLSAMD), Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, US Embassy and European Commission.

A society in which women and men can have equal access to public services, justice and education is a vision, which we vigorously follow. We desire a society that stands on the pillars of democracy and individual freedoms. In such a society men women and children can live side by side without fear of persecution and suppression.

Mission:

NSRDO was established to enhance access to justice forth battered and abused women and to protect children from the rampant abuse so dominant in Afghan society. Therefore, it is our mission to reduce and hopefully eliminate the menace of domestic violence and child abuse from our society. To reach our noble goals, we need to educate the public about the psychological impacts of such abuses on the lives of infected families and society. Since its establishment in 2005, we have strived to fulfill our promises to the public and to ourselves.

Job Description:

Summary:
The Community Mobilizer will play a crucial role in engaging and mobilizing local communities to support the education project in Paktika. Working closely with community members, school staff, local leaders, and project stakeholders, the Community Mobilizer will foster strong relationships, promote awareness about the importance of education, and encourage active participation. Their efforts will ensure community ownership, address local concerns, and enhance support for the successful implementation and sustainability of the education project.

Job Description Duties:

Community Engagement:

Identify and engage community leaders, parents, and other stakeholders to promote the CBE project.
Organize community meetings and workshops to raise awareness about educational opportunities.


Communication:

Serve as a liaison between the community and NSRDO, ensuring effective communication of project goals and activities.
Collect feedback from the community to inform project implementation and improvement.


Capacity Building and reporting:

Conduct training sessions for community members on topics related to education and child rights.
Support the establishment of community education committees/councils SMS, SMC, CDCs.
Work closely with CBE teachers in relevant communities for quality teaching
Data collection and reporting daily according to the project need


Monitoring and Reporting:

Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of project activities and outcomes.
Prepare regular reports on community engagement activities and challenges faced.


Collaboration:

Work closely with local authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to enhance project visibility and support.
Participate in relevant meetings and workshops to represent the CBE project.

Job Requirements:

Essential:

Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Proven experience in community mobilization and engagement, preferably in construction or development projects.
Strong understanding of community dynamics, cultural sensitivities, and local governance structures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with diverse communities.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate community meetings, workshops, and consultations.
Knowledge of participatory approaches and tools for community engagement.
Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in local languages spoken in the community is advantageous.
Familiarity with the education project .


 Skills required

 Excellent written & spoken in English, Dari and Pashto
Ability to work in a team/ strong interpersonal skill
Demonstrated communication, and reporting skills
Willingness and ability to work in unstable contexts
Flexibility, and ability to work under pressure and in multicultural environments
Ability to work independently and to be proactive
Ability to identify needs and priorities and respond accordingly
