About Social Association for Development of Afghanistan (SADA):
SADA is a non-governmental, non-for-profit and non-political humanitarian and development organization. SADA was founded in 1994 when Afghanistan was severely affected by internal war and access to any humanitarian facilities and services was practically debarred. SADA was established with a vision of “To alleviate poverty and human sufferings to see educated, self-reliant, peaceful and developed Afghanistan” by enhancing access to quality, safe and free education, improving health conditions, upgrading local agriculture & irrigation systems, increasing awareness around hygiene and sanitation, and advocating for the rights of women & children.
SADA started its first operation in 1996 in Kandahar province by implementing a UNOPS funded WASH project with the total value of $12,657. SADA gradually expanded its operations across the southern region by developing partnerships with UNOPS, UNDP, UNWFP, UNICEF, UNHCR, Malala Fund, Street Child/Children in Crisis, GPE, JICA, Action Aid, ZOA Refugee Care, Royal Netherland Embassy, PRT and the government of Afghanistan.
SADA is able to successfully implement hundreds of small and large humanitarian and development projects in several sectors in different parts of the country, which have greatly contributed in improving the living conditions of hundreds of thousands of needy people. SADA through its community-based-approach built up strong relations with communities and gained a special acceptance among them. On the basis of service delivery, the organization has created excellent reputation among donor organizations, partner organization, government officials and other stakeholders.
SADA is headquartered in Kabul and currently has sub offices in Kandahar, Helmand, Wardak, Bamiyan, Samangan, Sari-Pul, Faryab and Urozgan provinces.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Education Program Management:
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of education programs related to the CBE project.
- Develop and implement program strategies, objectives, and action plans to improve educational outcomes for learners.
- Coordination with Stakeholders:
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education (MoEc), Provincial Education Department (PED), local communities, NGOs, and other partners to enhance collaboration and support for implementation of the CBE project.
- Organize and facilitate regular stakeholder meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and opportunities.
- Registration of Project Narrative Reports in the MoEc Portal:
- Ensure timely and accurate registration of all project narrative reports in the MoEc portal in line with governmental requirements.
- Drafting Reports to MoEc and PED:
- Prepare and submit comprehensive reports to the MoEc and PED, highlighting project progress, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
- Monthly Reporting to the Program Manager Using the 5W:
- Compile and present monthly reports to the Program Manager using the "5W" (Who, What, Where, When, and Why) framework to track project implementation progress and impact.
- Contributing to the Project Manager Activities:
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, monitoring, reporting, and executing project activities effectively.
- Collaborate in identifying capacity-building needs of local facilitators and education staff involved in the CBE project.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Implement monitoring and evaluation protocols to assess the effectiveness of the CBE program and ensure that objectives are met.
- Collect and analyze data on students' attendance, learning outcomes, and overall program impact.
- Training and Capacity Building:
- Organize and facilitate training sessions for teachers, education facilitators, and community members on effective teaching practices and curriculum implementation.
- Community Engagement:
- Promote active community involvement in the CBE project by mobilizing community members, parents, and local leaders to support and participate in educational initiatives.
- Budget Management:
- Assist in the preparation and management of program budgets and expenditures related to education activities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, financial transactions, and correspondence with stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Development Studies, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in education program management, particularly in community-based education.
In depth knowledge field of Education, management, budgeting and reporting.
Have capacity to plan and manage multiple deadlines working environment.
Have a flexible attitude to changing priorities and adaptability to the environment.
Have the ability and capacity to think ahead and highlight areas of concern, risks etc and planning.
Good team player and capable of working in multicultural environment.
Fluent in speaking and writing Advance English, Pashto and Dari languages.
