These services were first laid in 1870 for the first time during the reign of Amir Shir Ali Khan, which witnessed significant ups and downs due to changes in the political, social and cultural spheres. Job Description:
Job Purpose
Operate and support the GPS Locker system at border by registering vehicles, activating and installing GPS Lockers, and ensuring accurate and timely data entry and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Register incoming and outgoing vehicles, trips, and GPS lockers in the GPS locker system.
- Accurately record trip details including vehicle number, driver information, route, origin/destination, and trip ID.
- Assign, activate, deactivate, GPS locker to the correct vehicle.
- Install and maintain GPS Locker, trouble shoot signal issues and hardware faults.
- Provide technical support for desktop computers, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues.
- Verify all operational data with customs authorities prior to trip activation.
- Coordinate with the Control Room for trip activation, monitoring, and completion.
- Monitor system alerts, notifications, and status updates, and immediately report anomalies such as seal tampering, route deviation, or device malfunction.
- Update the system with accurate trip start/end times, lock/unlock events, and route data.
- Maintain electronic and manual operational logs and ensure data synchronization with HQ systems.
- Prepare daily and weekly operational reports for the System Operators Team Leader.
- Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity of all operational data.
- Support customs and law enforcement agencies with real-time system data when required.
- Maintain smooth shift handover by providing complete and accurate operational records.
- Ensure workspace, systems, connectivity, and equipment are operational during duty hours.
- Work in assigned shifts to support continuous 24/7 site operations
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Technology, software engineering or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in system operations, data entry, logistics, customs, or IT operation and support environments.
- Prior experience with GPS tracking, fleet management, or border management systems is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of GPS tracking and electronic locking systems.
- Familiarity with spreadsheet tools.
- High attention to detail and typing accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and in shift-based environments.
- Working knowledge of local languages and basic English.
