Job Description:
The Capacity Building / Training Officer is responsible for conducting training needs assessments, assisting in the development of training plans, preparing training materials, coordinating training activities, ensuring staff participation in relevant trainings, conducting follow-ups, and supervising the quality of training outcomes and staff performance.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Coordinate training needs with trainers and the project manager.
- Liaise closely with MOPH and UNICEF for relevant trainings.
- Conduct regular visits to health facilities to assess staff capacity gaps and provide on-the-job training where applicable.
- Assist in developing annual training plans aligned with the overall project work plan.
- Support preparation of course plans, lesson plans, and training materials.
- Facilitate effective cascading of knowledge and skills at provincial and facility levels.
- Distribute standard protocols and guidelines to health workers.
- Monitor implementation of training schedules across different staff levels.
- Develop and administer post-training assessments based on learning objectives.
- Coordinate field testing of training materials and integrate feedback.
- Conduct post-training follow-up visits to ensure application of skills.
- Ensure adherence to established standards and protocols.
- Communicate training-related instructions from the field office to health facilities.
- Maintain training center resources, including library materials and equipment inventory.
- Engage with community leaders and stakeholders to strengthen participation and indirectly assess field performance.
- Compile training activity reports and recommendations.
- Complete Semi-Annual and Annual Training Needs Assessments (TNA).
- Develop follow-up plans for previously conducted trainings.
- Prepare quarterly and annual training reports.
- Maintain and update the training database and share with the main office.
- Perform other project-related tasks as required under the SAFE project.
Job Requirements:
- MD degree or bachelor's degree in public health or a related medical field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in BPHS/EPHS projects, supervision, and capacity building, preferably with NGOs/INGOs.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Pashto, Dari, and English.
- Strong ability to handle confidential information professionally.
