MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
The objective of the guard supervisor position is to provide security services to MSH staff and property in Afghanistan. The guard supervisor in addition will supervise senior guards and ensure that duties are carried out as required to ensure safe working atmosphere.
Major Activities / Responsibilities
Provide and take care of the security services to both staff and premises of MSH.
Manage crises, and act lawfully in direct defense of life or property.
Communicate clearly and effectively with staff.
Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property observing for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances.
Make use of monitoring surveillance equipment.
Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.
Take care of MOSS and EMOSS to ensure buildings safety and security.
Permit only authorized personnel entry to premises, and take care of access control.
Obtain help by sounding alarms when the situation calls for it.
Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities.
Manage a team of guards and their schedules to always ensure maximum security.
Supervise activities of guards to ensure they are in line with policies and procedures.
During crisis situations, take of the lead role and direct guards to ensure the lawful defense of life and property.
Train and schedule programs and functions to security personnel.
Evaluate, assess, and analyze performance of security personnel.
In collaboration with the Senior Security Manager, initiate disciplinary measures wherever necessary.
Perform other duties as required.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years’ experience
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in security guard experience.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience supervising staff in particular security guards.
Experience working in an environment similar or closely related to MSH type of work.
Security experience in a potential conflict environment.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge of the safety and security importance and safe working atmosphere.
Knowledge on workplace violence awareness and prevention programs.
Knowledge on network access and monitoring policies.
Having knowledge of the safety and security drills and trainings.
Knowledge on local, state and federal law enforcement and other related government agencies.
Must speak English.
Must have computer skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Platform
Ability to manage people in crisis and non-crisis situations.
