Job Summary

Job Summary :

The Data Collector/Enumerator will be responsible for conducting household interviews (HH), focus group discussions (FGD), and Key informant interviews (KII) as part of the baseline survey for the Basic Needs project. The role ensures accurate, timely, and ethical data collection to inform program planning and decision-making.

Main responsibilities:

  • Travel to the targeted district of Nangarhar province to locate and interview selected respondents.

  • Coordination with the stakeholders, community leaders, and members.

  • Conduct face-to-face interviews using paper-based forms or digital tools (Kobo Toolbox).

  • Obtain informed consent from all respondents before commencing interviews. Explain the purpose of the study and ensure confidentiality.

  • Check completed questionnaires for completeness, consistency, and clarity before submission. Verify and clarify responses when necessary.

  • Submit completed forms/data electronically at the end of each day and provide daily progress updates to the MEAL team and project Manager.

  • Safeguard and responsibly use all field equipment provided (tablet, smartphone, charger, ID cards, etc.).

  • Act professionally and respectfully within communities, building trust and rapport.

  • Address field challenges such as locating addresses, respondent reluctance, or language barriers, with guidance from supervisors.

  • Strictly follow all project manuals, sampling procedures, and interview guidelines.

Education :

Experience / Skills :
Minimum one year of experience in conducting assessments, baseline, or field-level data collection.

Languages:

Ability to communicate effectively in local languages.

IT knowledge :
Familiarity with mobile data collection tools (e.g., Kobo, ODK) is desirable.
