Job Summary

The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Facilitation Trainer/Facilitator is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating comprehensive training programs focused on interactive, play-based learning and modern early childhood development pedagogies. The role ensures that frontline educators, teachers, and field facilitators are fully equipped with the skills and child-centered methodologies required to deliver high-quality, inclusive, and safe early learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver competency-based training sessions on Early Childhood Education (ECE) principles, methodologies, and facilitation techniques to youth participants.
  • Develop and adapt training materials, lesson plans, and practical exercises aligned with approved ECE curricula and standards.
  • Build trainees’ knowledge and skills in child development, child-centered learning, classroom management, and age-appropriate teaching approaches.
  • Facilitate interactive learning activities, demonstrations, and practicum sessions to strengthen participants’ instructional competencies.
  • Assess trainees’ progress through pre- and post-tests, assignments, observations, and practical evaluations.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback to enhance trainees’ facilitation and teaching skills.
  • Maintain training records, attendance sheets, and performance reports, and submit timely reports to management.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and gender-sensitive learning environment and promote safeguarding and child protection principles.
  • Coordinate with project staff and relevant stakeholders to organize and implement training activities effectively.
  • Support trainees in preparing for employment or community-based engagement as ECE facilitators and educators.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Teacher Training, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in delivering training, facilitation, or capacity-building programs.
  • Proven experience in Early Childhood Education (ECE), teacher training, or community-based education programs.
  • Experience in developing training materials, lesson plans, and conducting practical sessions.
  • Experience working with youth and adult learners in a training environment.
  • Previous experience with NGOs, development projects, or vocational and skills development programs is desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Early Childhood Education principles, child development, and child-centered teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor youth and adult learners effectively.
  • Strong skills in curriculum implementation, lesson planning, and learner assessment.
  • Proficiency in preparing reports and maintaining training documentation.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; working knowledge of English is an asset.
