Job Summary

JOB PURPOSE:

The Survey Engineer will be responsible for planning, conducting, and managing all engineering survey activities related to the township development project. The role includes topographic surveys, construction layout, stakeout, as-built surveys, road alignment surveys, drainage layout, utility surveys, and survey data processing.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Design Engineer, Site Engineers, and Project Management Team to ensure that all survey activities are accurate, reliable, and in accordance with project specifications and engineering standards.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIES:

1. Survey Operations

Conduct topographic, boundary, route, and construction surveys.

Perform road, drainage, utility, and structural layout surveys.

Carry out stakeout and setting-out for roads, drainage systems, buildings, and other infrastructure works.

Perform as-built surveys and prepare final survey records.

2. DGPS & Survey Equipment

Operate DGPS/GNSS receivers, Total Station, Auto Level, and other survey equipment.

Establish and verify control points and benchmarks.

Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of survey instruments.

3. Survey Data Processing

Download, process, and verify survey data.

Prepare coordinate files, contour maps, Digital Terrain Models (DTM), profiles, and cross-sections.

Generate survey reports and engineering documentation.

4. Coordination

Coordinate with Design Engineers, Site Engineers, and Construction Teams.

Verify survey data before construction activities.

Provide accurate survey information for engineering design and project execution.

5. Quality Assurance

Ensure all survey activities comply with project specifications and engineering standards.

Verify accuracy of coordinates, elevations, and layout points.

Maintain proper survey documentation and field records.

6. Site Support

Provide continuous survey support during construction.

Resolve survey-related technical issues.

Monitor construction alignment and levels to ensure compliance with approved drawings.

7. Reporting

Prepare daily and weekly survey reports.

Maintain survey records, coordinate databases, and project documentation.

Submit technical reports to Project Management.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Surveying Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

TECHNICAL SKILL:

  • Strong knowledge of engineering surveying principles.
  • Excellent understanding of DGPS/GNSS surveying techniques.
  • Experience in road alignment, topographic surveys, and construction layout.
  • Knowledge of coordinate systems, leveling, and mapping standards.
  • Software Skills
  • AutoCAD
  • Civil 3D
  • GIS Software (ArcGIS or QGIS is an advantage)
  • Microsoft Office
  • Survey data processing software (South, Leica, Trimble, Topcon, or similar)
