Job Description:

Purpose of the Position: 

Under the overall direction of Search Program Manager, the incumbent coordinates with Search program team in planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the assigned project’s activities. The position will be based in Kabul with expected travels to different provinces for monitoring of program delivery, coordination, and facilitation supporting different events including but not limited to meetings, workshops, and training sessions in target areas.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Coordinates program implementation and documents lessons learned.
  • Ensures timely delivery of project activities by following up with project team members and partner organizations.
  • Applies Search standards and best practices to work



  1. Workplan: articulation of detailed costed work plan and activity plan that track outputs
  2. Reporting: lead and coordinate the development of reports (presentations, agenda, donor reports, monthly reports, activity reports, etc); upload and update the Grants Management System (GMS)
  3. Compliance: draft memos relevant to rules and regulations; support project staff in understanding regulations
  4. Financial management: monitor project budget lines and Budget versus Actuals (BvA)
  5. Subaward management: draft Terms of Reference (ToR) and other partner materials (e.g., contract, Statement of Work (SoW), etc.); drive partner capacity assessment and partner capacity plan; coordinate with partner staff in project implementation; review and provide support to partner work plan, budget, and contract; manage the compliance of sub awardee.
  6. Assist Search’s procurement team in developing project-specific procurement plans and ensure they are followed. If needed, coordinate with project vendors (e.g., hotel, catering, printing, transportation, etc.)
  7. Personnel Management: Supervise interns and Assistants as assigned, support in building staff capacity as needed, provide support in the recruitment of staff as needed, provide the Search Program Implementation description for recruitment posting, and contribute to the development of interview materials 
  8. External Engagement: Coordinate with partner staff in project implementation and activities, ensure effective communication with project stakeholders, and draft materials for stakeholders (donor/partner/governmental meetings - e.g., agenda, presentations, etc.)
  9. Note and record challenges and lessons learned from project implementation via activity and monthly reports
  10. Identify partner organizations and communities for future interventions
  11. Support in the development of budget and budget simulations
  12. Support in the identification and decision of opportunities (go/no-go)
  13. Infuses organizational Values into all work
  14. Other duties that are broadly in line with the above key contributions as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Social Science, NGO management or related field; 
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with an undergraduate degree or 5 years with a graduate degree with national or international organizations.
  • Proficiency in English and a national language (Dari/Pashot) is required.
