Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians in the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of animals.
  • Prepare animals for medical procedures, surgeries, and diagnostic tests.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens.
  • Monitor animal health and behavior before, during, and after treatment or surgery.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, treatment logs, and vaccination records.
  • Provide routine animal care, including feeding, grooming, and cleaning of housing facilities.
  • Assist in disease surveillance, outbreak investigations, and animal health campaigns.
  • Educate animal owners on proper animal care, nutrition, disease prevention, and vaccination schedules.
  • Operate and maintain veterinary equipment and ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
  • Support livestock health programs, including deworming, vaccination, and breeding activities.
  • Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and veterinary health regulations.
  • Manage inventory of veterinary medicines, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assist in field visits, community outreach, and livestock extension activities.
  • Prepare reports and submit animal health data to supervisors and relevant authorities.
  • Respond to animal health emergencies and provide first aid when required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic working environment within veterinary facilities

Job Requirements

Academic Qualifications:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science

Professional experience:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in livestock support and animal health services

with regular travel to the Project targeted Districts
