Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement forestry and natural resource management plans and strategies.
  • Conduct assessments of forest resources, biodiversity, land use, and environmental conditions.
  • Provide technical guidance on sustainable forest management, watershed protection, and ecosystem restoration.
  • Design and supervise afforestation, reforestation, and forest conservation activities.
  • Support community-based natural resource management initiatives and strengthen local capacities.
  • Monitor and evaluate forestry and environmental projects to ensure compliance with project objectives.
  • Collect, analyze, and report environmental and forestry-related data.
  • Coordinate with government agencies, communities, NGOs, and other stakeholders on forestry and NRM activities.
  • Promote climate change adaptation, mitigation, and environmental sustainability practices.
  • Ensure compliance with national forestry laws, environmental regulations, and donor requirements.
  • Develop training materials and conduct capacity-building sessions for field staff and community members.
  • Prepare technical reports, work plans, budgets, and project documentation.
  • Support GIS mapping, resource inventories, and environmental monitoring where required.
  • Identify environmental risks and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Contribute to proposal development, research, and resource mobilization related to forestry and natural resource management programs

Job Requirements

Academic Qualifications:

·         Minimum bachelor's degree in delivering capacity-building workshops in forestry and facilitating multi-stakeholder training sessions.

Professional experience:

·         At least three years of experience in Agriculture, Rural Development, or a related discipline

 

with regular travel to the Project targeted Districts
