Job Summary

About the Role

Zhakfar is seeking a Design & Site Planning Engineer to join our engineering team. The role combines design and drafting work with land-use and permitting responsibilities, supporting projects from initial concept sketches through to regulatory approval

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare architectural sketches, concept drawings, and detailed site plans
  • Produce and revise technical drawings in AutoCAD and other relevant design software
  • Develop site layouts that account for setbacks, access, orientation, and site constraints
  • Prepare, support, and coordinate zoning and building permit applications with the relevant authorities
  • Track approval processes and maintain accurate permit and submission records
  • Prepare written reports, drawing schedules, and project documentation in English
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients throughout the design and approval process

In this role, you will read municipal codes of ordinances and regulations closely, extract the requirements that apply to each project, and correspond with authorities by phone and in writing. Strong English and careful attention to detail are essential rather than desirable.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Current student or graduate in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a closely related field (student candidates in their final years of study will be considered)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software
  • Strong spatial reasoning, with the ability to interpret and produce technical drawings
  • High attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Competence with Microsoft Office and PDF editing tools
  • Experience with GIS, SketchUp, Revit, or similar design software
