RFP for Local NGOs Capacity Building Training

Concern Worldwide is an international, humanitarian, non-governmental organisation dedicated to the elimination of extreme poverty and the reduction of human suffering, primarily in fragile countries. We work with people living in extreme poverty to achieve major improvements in their lives which last and spread without ongoing support from Concern. Informed by the priorities of affected communities, we go where the needs are greatest and work to save lives, protect and develop livelihoods, support recovery, and build long-term resilience.

Concern’s Chronic Humanitarian Crisis (CHC) project, funded by Irish Aid, is dedicated to strengthening community resilience to natural disasters and climate change through disaster preparedness, disaster risk reduction (DRR), and life‑saving emergency response in Takhar and Badakhshan provinces. By addressing both immediate humanitarian needs and longer‑term disaster risk reduction, the CHC project provides a foundation for sustainable resilience in areas affected by natural hazards.

As part of this broader framework, the programme is expanding its focus to include capacity‑building for local NGOs. Recognizing existing capacity gaps in HR, Finance, Logistics, and Programme Implementation, this activity equips selected LNGOs with essential skills to overcome operational constraints and deliver more effective, gender-sensitive, and context-specific responses. By investing in LNGOs, the programme ensures that humanitarian and disaster response efforts are more inclusive, accountable, and sustainable, while promoting locally led development. LNGOs will be supported to develop tailored capacity development plans with clear expected results such as stronger financial accountability, improved HR systems, and enhanced delivery while embedding sustainability through long-term partnerships and institutional resilience. In this way, the CHC project not only addresses immediate humanitarian needs but also strengthens the enduring ability of local actors to deliver community-driven responses to disasters.
