Job Description:

Job Summary

The HMIS Assistant main duties and responsibilities are:

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To work closely with the project team for proper implementation of the project
  • To carry out frequent monitoring and supportive supervision visits to the project health facilities.
  • To provide data for the health management team if required.
  • To develop monitoring checklist.
  • Develop training materials and HMIS tools if required.
  • To analyze the NMC and other monitoring checklist and prepare feedback on the health facilities.
  • To attend regular Sub Committee meetings held in PHD.
  • To Maintain and update the database of HMIS and NMC.
  • To prepare a quarterly technical progress report if required.
  • To carry out specific training, support, and other capacity building activities in HMIS for health facility staff.
  • HMIS data analysis, data quality check, providing technical assistance and feedback to HF staff and other relevant health supervisors.
  • Assessment, planning and conducting HMIS workshops and on the job training.
  • To ensure the flow of information to the IRA main office.
  • To send regularly the required reports to IRA main office
  • Through job training and on-site technical assistance, assist the HF staff in managing the implementation and maintenance of the national HMIS system, including processing, analyzing, and reporting and data use, helping the staff to ensure that complete and accurate information is received from the HFs.
  • To ensure proper usage of HMIS monitoring checklist at sub office level and HMIS committee ToR at health facility level.
  • To assist the provincial management team in ensuring that provincial planning is based on accurate and updated information.
  • To identify and report any outbreaks to the line supervisor, properly manage the outbreaks and provide the final report.
  • To identify and report immediately any problem, which interfere in the delivery of services or in achieving the program objectives to the line supervisor.
  • Participate regularly in staff meetings and monthly technical meetings.
  • Having 70% to 90% field travels to the targeted health facilities in Khuram Wa Sarbagh and Roy-e Douab Districts are required
  • Attend in DoPH Meetings when needed & required
  • To undertake other tasks as requested by the line supervisor.
 

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MD, BsPH, MPH are advantage

Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in the relevant field
  • Strong Command on Local Languages
  • Good knowledge of computer and English language
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-ethnic team and take on diverse tasks.
  • Working experience in the targeted province particularly in Roy-e Douab and Khuram Wa Sarbagh Districts and familiar with concerned community, geography and culture.
