Agency for Assistance and Development of Afghanistan (AADA) is an Afghan non-profit non-governmental organization working for the development of Afghanistan mainly through (1) provision of quality health services; (2) community development; (3) training and capacity building at professional and community levels; and (4) research in topics of public health and social sciences besides various projects in different parts of Afghanistan.
Job Description:
- Under the technical guidance of Jhpiego’s city manager in Nangarhar and AADA main office technical manager, the project manager has the overall responsibility of effective and efficient management of urban Family Health Houses (uFHHs) and community-based interventions through the urban Health Posts (uHPs) and community mobilization sessions in targeted Nahias of Jalalabad city;
- Support the reproductive officer, CHW trainer and community mobilizer
- Responsible for accurate budget control in compliance with AADA systems and procedures
- Support the implementation of monitoring systems and project progress review;
- Regular participation in the coordination meetings at the provincial level
- Liaise with the Jhpiego at the provincial level to coordinate all activities.
- Responsible for strengthening community participation in health activities to ensure the long-term ownership and effectiveness of the UHI;
- Identify and decide to solve immediately any problem which interferes with the delivery of services or in achieving the program objectives and provide a report to his/her immediate supervisor;
- Develop and submit project progress, (biweekly, monthly and quarterly) and other reports as per donor requirements to Jhpiego and AADA main office.
Job Requirements:
- Afghan National
- MD degree- graduate from a recognized medical Faculty- female MD is preferred
- At least three years of experience in health projects management;
- Strong communication skills, with reasonable written and spoken English
- Fluency in written and spoken local languages;
- Knowledge of local environment;
- Strong leadership skills and a supportive management style
