International Medical Corps (IMC) is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief programs. IMC is carrying out medical relief services in several provinces of Afghanistan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mobilize community members (women, men, girls and boys) to attend IMC awareness on GBV basics, health/hygiene, IDPs/returnees, human rights in general and women and girls rights and mental health awareness and provide orientation on program activities.
Plan and conduct social activities for women and girls at the Women and Girls Friendly Spaces.
Plan and organize for community meetings with community leaders, community elders and shura members to support work of IMCs mobile teams, orient them on project activities and ensure buy-in for community participation.
Effectively work and collaborate with religious leaders, teachers, and Imams, organize community dialogue sessions, advocate for protection messages and train on referrals.
Conduct awareness and sensitization campaigns ensuring full participation of beneficiaries.
Maintain regular contact with community focal points to identify barriers of access to services and key risks faced by women and girls in the community.
Gather feedback at community level and share information with the protection officers and/or Site Manager
Facilitate community referrals to IMC staff and other referral agencies.
Provide weekly and monthly reports
Graduated from high school or recognized nursing institution or above institutions and have experience in the relevant field of community mobilization, community engagement and Proven ability in community mobilization
Strong facilitation and communication skills
Good understanding of violence against women and girls and needs of disaster affected populations
Minimum one-year experience working in a similar role.
Personal qualities: works well in big teams and promotes teamwork, empathetic and shows commitment to prevent Gender-Based Violence
