About the Company

Asia Community Development Organization (ACDO) is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political and non-profit humanitarian organization founded in 2014 register with the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GoIRA) under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy (MoEc) with a mission to provide humanitarian and development assistance to the vulnerable, at-risk and underserved people throughout the country.

ACDO responds to the needs of disadvantaged and marginalized rural and urban communities by managing and utilizing the available scars resources in a well, efficient, transparent and dignified manner to enhance resilience, boost access to education, ensure food and livelihood security, and promote social protection and inclusion.

ACDO has active presence at least in nine provinces in five regions of the country and intends to expand its operations to the remaining provinces as well with the aim to transform itself into a leading and developed organization which will deliver to and support significant number of people who had been affected by the long protracted and sudden on-set emergencies in Afghanistan. Regardless of the hardest circumstances that existed in Afghanistan in 2022 and 2021, ACDO has managed to deliver humanitarian and development assistance in Nangarhar, Herat, Balkh, Kabul, Kandahar, Bamyan, Wardak, Jawzjan, Paktia, Kunduz, Takhar, Laghman, Daykundi and Farah provinces.

Job Summary

ACDO is looking for a Finance Intern to provide comprehensive support to the Finance department. The selected individual will assist in maintaining financial records, processing transactions, preparing financial documents, and supporting the implementation of financial policies and procedures. The intern will gain hands-on experience in financial management, reporting, and compliance, contributing to ACDO’s efficient and transparent financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Record Management
    • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    • Help in organizing vouchers, invoices, and supporting documents for transactions.
  1. Transaction Processing
    • Assist in processing payments, including verification of supporting documents.
    • Record financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets under the guidance of the Finance Manager.
  1. Budget and Reporting Support
    • Support in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
    • Assist in budget tracking and variance analysis to ensure expenditures align with allocations.
  1. Compliance and Auditing
    • Ensure financial transactions are compliant with ACDO’s policies and donor requirements.
    • Assist in organizing documents and data for internal and external audits.
  1. Cash Flow Management
    • Help monitor and reconcile petty cash transactions.
    • Assist in the maintenance of cash flow records for program and operational activities.
  1. Administrative Support
    • Support in preparing financial documents such as payment requests, payroll, and reconciliations.
    • Assist in correspondence with banks, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Fresh graduates).
  2. Familiarity with accounting software and financial management tools (e.g., QuickBooks, MS Excel).
  3. Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  4. Good written and verbal communication skills in English, Dari, and Pashto.
  5. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in financial data.
  6. Prior internship or academic knowledge in financial processes is a plus.

Skills and Competencies:

  1. Basic understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and reporting.
  2. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  3. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
