Job Summary

About the Programme

Horizon Bridge Consulting (HBC), in partnership with is implementing an international donor-funded digital skills training programme for Afghan youth (ages 15–24) in Kabul and Herat. The programme trains young people in market-relevant digital skills across six specialisation pathways and links graduates to employment through internships, freelancing, and entrepreneurship support. Training runs from July to October 2026, with employment facilitation through November 2026.

Position Overview

Teaching Assistants support the Lead Trainers during hands-on lab sessions and practical exercises. You will work directly with students during coding labs, design workshops, and project sessions, providing one-on-one help when students are stuck. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or junior professionals to gain teaching experience while working on a donor-funded programme.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities

    Assist Lead Trainers during lab and practical sessions (4 sessions per week)

    Provide one-on-one support to students during hands-on exercises

    Help students troubleshoot coding errors, design issues, or platform problems

    Monitor student progress during lab sessions and flag struggling learners to the trainer

    Assist with equipment setup, LMS management, and classroom logistics

    Support online students during live broadcast sessions (manage chat, answer technical questions)

    Help maintain attendance records and assessment documentation

    Participate in weekly team meetings and provide feedback on student progress

Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, business, or related field (completed or final year)

    Basic proficiency in at least one of: web development, digital marketing, data analysis, or e-commerce

    Comfortable helping others learn technical skills

    Fluency in Dari or Pashto; basic English proficiency

    Reliable attendance (Saturday to Tuesday, full programme duration)

Preferred Qualifications

    Experience as a tutor, peer mentor, or teaching assistant

    Completion of any online certification (freeCodeCamp, Google, HubSpot, etc.)

    Previous participation in a digital skills training programme

    Female candidates are given strong preference

Technical Skills Required

    Familiarity with at least one technical area covered by the programme

    Google Workspace

    Ability to learn new tools quickly
