Faradata Social Change and Women Empowerment Organization (FSCWEO) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established on 20 July 2020 in Afghanistan. FSCWEO works to promote social change, empower women and youth, and support vulnerable communities through programs in education, health, WASH, livelihoods, human rights, and humanitarian assistance. With active offices in Kandahar, Herat, Helmand, Farah, Daikundi, Nangarhar and Nimruz, the organization aims to build an Afghanistan where all people—regardless of gender, ethnicity, or religion—live in dignity and equality.
Job Summary
Job Responsibilities
- Lead community mobilization activities to ensure active participation of target communities in project planning, implementation, and monitoring.
- Facilitate community meetings, awareness campaigns, focus group discussions, and consultation sessions to promote project objectives and community engagement.
- Identify, engage, and maintain effective relationships with community leaders, local authorities, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders.
- Promote social inclusion by ensuring the meaningful participation of women, youth, persons with disabilities, marginalized groups, and other vulnerable populations in project activities.
- Support beneficiary identification, targeting, and selection processes in accordance with project criteria and organizational guidelines.
- Conduct social assessments and community needs assessments to identify barriers to participation and opportunities for inclusion.
- Develop and implement community engagement and social inclusion strategies to enhance project effectiveness and sustainability.
- Raise awareness on social inclusion, gender equality, protection principles, community rights, and available project services.
- Strengthen community structures, committees, and local groups to support community ownership and sustainability of project interventions.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and promote social cohesion among diverse community groups where applicable.
- Collect community feedback, concerns, and complaints and ensure they are addressed through established accountability and feedback mechanisms.
- Monitor community participation levels and social inclusion outcomes and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate closely with technical teams to ensure project activities are responsive to community needs and priorities.
- Prepare regular reports on community mobilization activities, stakeholder engagement, challenges, achievements, and lessons learned.
- Support training and capacity-building initiatives for community representatives, volunteers, and local committees.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, safeguarding standards, and humanitarian principles.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor community engagement activities and verify project implementation progress.
- Contribute to documentation of success stories, best practices, and lessons learned related to community participation and social inclusion.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or supervisor related to community mobilization and social inclusion.
Job Requirements
Academic Qualifications:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Rural Development or related discipline
Professional experience:
• Minimum 4 years of experience in community mobilization and facilitation
• Experience in gender inclusion and community engagement
• Experience in grievance handling and community consultation
Language:
• Fluency in Pashto and Dari is required
with regular travel to the Project targeted Districts
