Job Description:
Job Purpose:
The Security Guard plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of both staff ,patients and assets at Health Service Centers or offices. Their responsibilities include:
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Minimizing Sensitivity: Implement measures to reduce security-related concerns within the center.
- Staff Security: Provide a safe working environment for all employees.
- Security Assessment: Regularly evaluate the security situation and report any issues or concerns.
- Premises Security: Ensure the safety of staff, assets and IMC premises.
- Assistance Distribution: Help staff with the distribution of assistance and refreshments.
- Access Control: Prevent visitors from entering work areas with weapons and control non-official vehicles near the HSC site.
- Reporting: Immediately report suspicious packages, bags, or envelopes to the head of the center and technical person.
- Shift Work: Complete regular shifts as scheduled by the Supervisor and senior management.
- Equipment Care: Take care of all health and social center equipment, including loading and unloading as needed.
- Respect Working Hours: Arrive on time and remain until the next person on duty arrives.
- Activity Facilitation: Facilitate activities within the health facility.
- Client Guidance: Adjust clients according to the team doctor's work plan and guide them to the appropriate department.
- Document Security: Ensure the security and confidentiality of documents and items.
- Perimeter Patrol: Regularly patrol the perimeter of the compound.
- Movement Control: Control all movement in and out of the IMC compound.
- Safety Threats: Inform the direct supervisor of any potential safety threats or unusual activities in the field.
- Maintenance: Ensure that electricity and generators are well maintained (fuel, water, and oil).
- Equipment Operation: Switch on and off bulbs/generators as needed and report any malfunctions.
- Contamination Assessment: Visually identify types of surfaces, contamination, and use appropriate cleaning tools.
- Additional Tasks: Complete any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Guidelines to Follow:

- Playing CDs or videos during official hours.
- Loud or rude noise in the area.
- Inviting friends or relatives to the work area, especially after hours while on duty.
- Stress Management: Ability to cope with stressful situations and work with limited resources.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse:
- Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.

- Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.
