About Action against Hunger :
Action Against Hunger (AAH) is a Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) that was create in France in 1979. Action Against Hunger has been active in Afghanistan in the medical, nutrition, food security, and water and sanitation fields since 1995.
Objective 1: Strengthen nutrition specific interventions within healthcare service delivery at Health facility and community levels:
Conducting regular supervision of partner’s nutrition activities within health facilities and communities.
Ensure that the admission criteria is respected, severely malnourished cases with medical complications referred to TFU (IPD SAM ward) and non-complicated case of acute malnutrition are admitted in the OPD-SAM and OPD-MAM programs.
Identification of needs and providing relevant support to them in consultation with manager.
Ensure that the partner achieves high quality outcomes in its health and nutrition specific interventions implementation with respect to the national protocols.
Analyze and monitor the care of clients in the partner organizations HFs and supporting them for improvement in this domain
Offering and providing technical support to colleagues in the programme's health centres as well as in communities.
Working in collaboration with HF staff and community FHAGs, CHWs, village leaders and elders on the implementation, development and monitoring of the Nutrition program.
Objective 2: To conduct trainings to the Health Facilities Staff on -IMAM, IMNCI, ANC/PNC, FP and IYCF.
Support the manager in conducting training needs assessment and coordination with the partner organization.
Defining and preparing support and material for the training.
Developing, conducting pre-, and post-tests prior to conducting trainings and evaluating the progress.
Facilitating training sessions and ensure the quality, in coordination with manager.
Conducting trainings on IMAM (OTP, TFU), IMNCI, ANC/PNC, FP and IYCF for MoPH health facilities staff, communities, health workers etc.
Providing training reports after each training and sharing the reports to line manager.
Adopt and organize the existing IEC materials as per the project requirements.
On the Job, support to AAH/MoPH HFs staff and supportive supervisions from AAH/MoPH HFs activities.
Objective 3: Supporting the management of partner activities at HFs and community levels and post training follow up.
Monitoring the program targets and participating in timely course-corrections and necessary adjustments.
Conducting on the Job training for health facilities staff on Nut and follow up of activities on HFs and community level.
Objective 4: Represent AAH
Respect for the principles and values of AAH in the framework of the partnership
The quality of the relationship with the local programme partner
Present of the AAH activities to HF staff
Objective 5: Prepare all the material /Reporting tools and documentation
Reporting on program activities, in timely manner, by ensuring the provision of program indicators and program progress feedback to HFs.
Monthly morbidity and mortality report.
Follow up the monthly statistical report.
Participate to the APR and support manager in developing reports.
Keep all items in the field very well, after the field visit, clean, and prepare the using in coming day.
Update all reporting tools on daily basis.
Keep and maintain a good filing system for all documents.
Prepared the reports (Daily, Weekly and monthly) according to the standard reporting tools.
Assist line supervisor on performing other duties assigned by the organization.
Educational / Professional Background :
Graduated degree Medical Doctor from recognized institute
At least 3 years’ experience in the supervision field of health and nutrition projects.
Required Competences & Skills :
Previous experiences working in health and nutrition activities (IMNCI, Good knowledge of IMAM, TFU, pediatric unit….)
Good organization, planning and reporting skills are necessary.
Ability to manage staff & working environment according to local culture
Fluent in local languages (Dari & Pashto) and knowledge of English language is a plus.
High flexibility in deployment on the selected area, Must be proactive and show initiatives
Develops and promotes effective collaboration within and across units to achieve shared goals and optimize results.
Computer knowledge mainly word processing and Excel Spreadsheet is required.
Experience on PSS if possible.
Continuously seeks to learn, share knowledge and innovate.
