Lead Trainer – Data Analytics and Financial Technology

About the Programme

Horizon Bridge Consulting (HBC), in partnership with is implementing an international donor-funded digital skills training programme for Afghan youth (ages 15–24) in Kabul and Herat. The programme trains young people in market-relevant digital skills across six specialisation pathways and links graduates to employment through internships, freelancing, and entrepreneurship support. Training runs from July to October 2026, with employment facilitation through November 2026.

Position Overview

You will lead 3 cohorts of 25 students through a programme covering data analysis, financial technology, and bookkeeping. This pathway responds directly to a documented gap: Afghan women entrepreneurs lack financial management tools. Graduates will provide bookkeeping services (QuickBooks), data analysis, and financial reporting as freelancers or employees. The pathway covers advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL basics, and the Intuit/QuickBooks certification.

Key Responsibilities

•    Teach advanced Google Sheets and Excel: formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting, data cleaning

•    Teach data visualisation using Power BI and/or Tableau (connecting data sources, building dashboards, publishing reports)

•    Teach QuickBooks Online: chart of accounts, invoicing, expense tracking, bank reconciliation, financial reporting (P&L, balance sheet)

•    Cover cash flow management, budgeting, and basic financial planning for small businesses

•    Introduce SQL fundamentals (SELECT, WHERE, JOIN) for database querying

•    Integrate AI tools for formula generation, data analysis automation, and financial forecasting

•    Prepare students for Intuit Bookkeeping Professional, Google Data Analytics, and MOS Excel certifications

•    Guide students through creating a financial analysis dashboard and bookkeeping portfolio

•    Cover information management: cloud storage, document management, data security basics

Required Qualifications

•    Minimum 3 years of professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, data analysis, or financial management

•    Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (advanced functions, pivot tables)

•    Working knowledge of QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software

•    Experience teaching, training, or mentoring

•    Fluency in Dari or Pashto; working English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

•    Intuit QuickBooks certification or ACCA/CPA qualification (partial or complete)

•    Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio

•    SQL knowledge

•    Experience providing bookkeeping services to Afghan businesses or SMEs

•    Female candidates are given strong preference
