Job Summary

  • Conduct house-to-house TB symptom screening within the IDPs’ settlements in accordance with the National TB Control Program (NTP) guidelines to identify presumptive TB cases.
  • Carry out symptom screening of other key and vulnerable populations (diabetics, People with Injectable Drug Use, people with mental health disorders) at the provincial centers to identify presumptive TB cases.
  • Register clients accurately, maintain confidentiality, and provide respectful, gender-sensitive care.
  • Refer the presumptive TB cases for an X-ray screening conducted by the mobile health team on the same day.
  • Help and assist the X-ray technician with screening of the presumptive TB cases using the portable digital X-ray machine.
  • Collect and label sputum specimens correctly for presumptive TB cases who are able to produce sputum and transport the samples to the nearest diagnostic center for testing.
  • Facilitate referral and linkage of diagnosed TB patients to the nearest TB treatment center and follow up to ensure timely treatment initiation.
  • Provide health education on TB prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, and infection prevention and control (IPC).
  • Maintain accurate screening, laboratory, referral, and reporting records, and submit reports in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with mobile team member, health facility staff, community health workers, and provincial TB staff to ensure quality service delivery.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma in a medical field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in outreach activities and health screening; experience in TB, public health, or community-based programs is preferred.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office to generate and submit reports
  • Fluency in both local languages (Dari and Pashto)
  • Good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in remote and hard-to-reach areas, travel frequently and work at out of normal hours
